Laser hair removal requires a series of sessions to be effective, as only actively growing hairs respond to the laser. Here's what to expect:
Facial areas: Treated every 4–6 weeks
Body areas: Treated every 6–10 weeks
Minimum of 6 sessions is recommended for optimal results
After your initial series, you may need touch-ups every few months based on regrowth patterns
Once you’ve experienced a 6-month period with no regrowth, you’ve likely achieved long-term hair reduction. Some patients may still notice light, fine, or sparse hair, which is less responsive to laser due to reduced pigment.

Laser hair removal uses focused light energy to target pigment (melanin) in hair follicles. The light converts to heat, damaging the follicle and inhibiting future hair growth.
At Giddie Skin, we use cutting-edge Alexandrite (755 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) laser technology:

Because hair grows in cycles and the laser can only treat hair in the active growth phase, multiple sessions are required to achieve optimal results. Treatments are spaced 4–6 weeks apart for the face and 6–10 weeks apart for the body.

Anyone with unwanted dark hair in the treatment area may be a candidate. Laser hair removal is safe and effective on all skin tones using our dual-wavelength technology.
One thing to consider is that your hair must be dark. Blondes and some shades of red or grey are not treated effectively with the laser. Not sure how to tell if this is you? Schedule a consult and our providers will let you know if treatment is right for you!

Most clients need a minimum of 6 sessions. We typically see optimal results from 6-10 treatments. Maintenance treatments may be needed periodically as hair regrowth slows.

You may feel a slight snapping sensation, like a rubber band against the skin. Our cooling system helps minimize discomfort, making the treatment very tolerable compared to waxing or plucking.
In areas where the hair is darker and thicker you may experience more discomfort.
